Situation in the SOS Children's Villages in Egypt is calm

February 4 2011 - 04/02/2011 - After attacks by looters, the situation at the SOS Children's Villages in Cairo and Alexandria has calmed down. All children, SOS mothers and co-workers are safe and staying within the premises which are guarded by security staff around the clock. Schools and kindergartens are closed until further notice.

SOS Children's Villages in Brazil expands emergency response in the state of Rio de Janeiro

January 31 2011 - 31/01/2011 - Following massive landslides and floods in the highlands of the state of Rio de Janeiro, thousands of homeless families are forced to live in temporary shelters and rely on help. SOS Children's Villages has started emergency relief activities in Nova Friburgo and is now expanding its support to children and their families in the heavily affected municipality of Teresópolis.
