Ukraine

Foster families and children from Kharkiv relocated to Western Ukraine

June 17 2024 - Escalating violence and shelling in Ukraine’s northeastern province of Kharkivska led the government to call for an evacuation of people to safer regions in the west. SOS Children’s Villages in Ukraine supported the evacuation of 17 foster families, providing them with accommodations in the west where they will stay for at least three months.

March 4 2024 - With temporary protection set to expire on 4 March 2025, EU leadership is urgently needed to ensure millions of people displaced from Ukraine have continued access to rights and inclusion in Europe. As 131 civil society organisations, we call on the EU to propose timely, coordinated, collective and future-proof options for the transition out of temporary protection.
